The Bund 2 is a series from Hong Kong and is about the trials and tribulations of the gangster and triad olden days of China, set in the fast life of Shanghai of the days past. This is a beautiful instrumental and song from the film and series. Check it out at the jump.
Caspian MC releases the video for his new single, Built Like This, featuring the animated Snak The Ripper assisting on a half electro rap, half trap type beat. The song is going to be part of his Felix Slang album due later this year or early next year. Caspian and Snak have been part of the local hip hop scene in Vancity for a minute, and have expanded globally as part of their crews 100 Mad and SDK. The song is on the Stealth Bomb imprint.
Caspian, aka Felix Slang, is a hip hop artist and entrepreneur hailing from Surrey BC Canada. Surrey is part of the Metro Vancouver aka Lower Mainland area, essentially the main part and population of the province of BC in Canada. He has been putting in work for a long time and has seen the fruit from his labors. Other than that, he is part of a fashion and graffiti brand, Ephin, and is part of the hip hop and graf crew, Stomp Down Killaz. Stompdown has been grinding with graf for a long time and I can even remember seeing their pieces since I was a kid, trolling the streets and checking out local graf. If you peruse the locale, you will regularly see SDK, POS, and Werd written all over the lower mainland.
Snak The Ripper is a rapper and graf artist, and is most notably known for being very animated and comedic in his raps and personality and videos, creating memorable rhymes and faces with poses in his videos. He is also part of 100 Mad, POS, SDK.
After 9 years, 36 seasons, Tony Starks returns to his hood of Staten Island aka Shaolin…
When it comes to hip hop, Ghostface Killah, is one of the top artists and is regularly critically acclaimed, with many of the best albums on the planet earth.
Known for very creative lyrics, inventive, intelligent, and witty, Ghost drops science over many melodies and beats.
He recently dropped the album 36 Seasons, which features the full songs and instrumentals to his songs on the album.
The booklet features awesome artwork, comic style, amazing graphics and painting.
The album’s music captures that 70’s blaxploitation, Chow Yun Fat shoot’em up, Kung Fu Flick Theatre melody, over banging hip hop drums, and ghetto lyrics. Ghostface spins many different tales and rhymes, from partaking as a hero like Iron Monkey saving the streets from ghetto decay, to tell tale stories of the streets.
It’s a fantastic album and just in time for Christmas, my favorite album thus far this year.
For ultimate listening pleasure cop it on vinyl if you can, for the best audio listening, as it crackles over the needle and turntables. The music is available at the Jump.
