Howdy Y’all

I got a chance to watch this on prescreen tickets and it is a fantastic comedy movie playing on the buddy adventure concept.

The film follows two buddies from Ohio trying to do something with their lives in Los Angeles.  One is a video game designer and the other is a former football player turned slacker.  They spend their days hanging out and after going in a cop costume to a party and being mistaken for cops, they decide to pretend to be cops throughout the movie.  They end up this misadventure with adventures that turns out good for both parties.  It features some action and very funny scenes and comedy.  I will leave it at that so I do not ruin the film for y’all.  I highly recommend this movie and I give it a 8 out of 10.  Very funny and had me rolling!

Howdy Guapovida Folks

I got a chance to  watch this movie probono as I got prescreen tickets by the company promoting the film.

The movie is about the “friendzone” and the relationship between a man and a woman in Toronto with their group of friends.  They seem to like each other however their are some issues regarding the whole relationship.  They meet and things go well and the friendship ensues.  Will they become a soul mate to each other or stay in the friend zone?  I will not say anymore so I do not ruin the film for you.

The movie is not bad at all however it is a romantic type comedy so may not appeal to everyone.  If that type of film appeals to you, its good in that type of film and pretty original in all its concepts following the daily lives of Toronto singles and their friends.  I give it a 7 out of 10.

Dave Chapelle Returns… On David Letterman

One of my favorite comedians, Dave Chapelle is back!

If you never heard of Dave Chapelle, he is famous for a stand up act that was adult in material and actually very laugh out loud funny.  He covered topics like race, sex, masturbation, weed, pretty much anything to get a laugh and he was good at it too.  He will also be bringing back his infamous block party in New York at the Radio City Music Hall, where he will do standup from the 18 to 22 of June 2014 then June 24 to 26th of 2014 will feature the Block Party, featuring some of his hip hop entourage like the Roots & Busta Rhymes.

The Grand Seduction

I got a chance yesterday to catch an advance screening of the film and it is secretly satisfying and a diamond in the rough, a buried treasure.  The film is a comedic look at rural Canada and the connection of a small harbor community town.  The film captures a unique bond many communities have and how they help each other to accomplish.

I will not ruin the film for you by telling the story however I will give a summation.  The story follows Murray and his community as they try to revive and initiate their small community as it lacks connections and motivation.  Their plan comes a grand seduction to bring about this into their town as they lay in despair with a bleak future for the town.

It is a very touching film and also very funny (and many others felt the same as I heard them all feel the film).  I highly recommend it and hope you enjoy it when it fully comes out to the public to view!
