Chris Kelly, of the famous rap duo “Kriss Kross”, died today, apparently from a drug overdose, at his home in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

“It appears it may have been a possible drug overdose,” said Cpl. Kay Lester, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County police.

Lester stated that police were called to his home around 4 pm on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 whereby, Chris Kelly, was transported to the Atlanta Medical Center.  Investigator Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office said Kelly was pronounced dead at the hospital at around 5 p.m. Wednesday.  No official cause of death has been determined and an autopsy is pending.

Kelly, known as “Mac Daddy” with rhyme partner Chris Smith, were introduced to the world in 1992 as Kriss Kross, having been discovered by Jermaine Dupri at an Atlanta Mall.  They wore their clothing backwards as a gimmick and won over fans with the infectious and now famous song “Jump”.  They ended up blowing up and touring with Michael Jackson, went on media, and even had their own video game.  They were unable to match their first success but still had memorable music and hits throughout time.  He is remembered worldwide and caused a trend of wearing clothing backwards, which myself, I can remember numerous children doing this, when I was a child myself.
