The plug-in hybrid S-Class is powered by a 328-horsepower, turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 gasoline engine and an 80-kW (107-hp) electric motor sandwiched between the engine and an adapted version of the company’s eight-speed automatic transmission.

New S 500 PLUG-IN HYBRID: The S-Class as a “three litres per 100 kilometres” car

The third hybrid model of the new S-Class, the S 500 PLUG-IN HYBRID, sets new benchmarks with regard to efficiency as well as drive-system and climate comfort. With 69 g CO2 per kilometre (3 litres/100 km) the S‑Class sets a new benchmark for luxury saloons that just a few years ago was thought virtually impossible. The 80-kW electric drive with externally rechargeable battery makes emission-free driving for about 30 km possible. It is combined with the new 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged engine. Mercedes-Benz will present the S 500 PLUG-IN HYBRID at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA). The market launch will be next year.

Sounds like a nice car but the 107 HP for the electric is a bummer however the gasoline engine has a good MPG and a tasty 328 HP.

Always been a fan of Benz, and in my humble opinion, it is one of the best car manufacturers in the world.  The attention to detail to make everything awesome is why I love this brand of cars.  This is the unveiled C Class for 2015 by Brabus.  It is super sexy and pretty.  There are full on trims and upgrades and performance kits.

It’s under the hood where Brabus really gets to show its worth. Only tuning packages for European models have been announced, which means upgrades to the four-cylinder turbocharged C200 and the diesel C220 Bluetec—but the gains are significant. Power in the C200 is boosted by 41 hp (to 225 horses) and there’s another 22 lb-ft of torque too. The 0-62 mph sprint drops to seven seconds (from 7.5) and top speed is up 3 mph to 150 mph.

The 170-horse C220 diesel has also been improved. Power is up 48 hp, and peak torque is now 332 lb-ft. It’s almost as quick as the Brabus-tuned C200 at 7.1 seconds to 62 mph, and top speed is just 1 mph shy of its gasoline counterpart. All Brabus-tuned Mercedes enjoy a 3-year/62,000 mile Tuning Warranty for peace of mind. Prices?
