Vancouver BC, the rainy and humid Northwest, just north of the border past Washington State in the US.
Despite our gloomy and dreary weather at times, we have some of the best chefs and cooks in the world, and boy do we enjoy our burgers here.
Here is a select of some tasty treats in the form of the almighty burger.
Splitz Grill
Splitz Grill is just off of Main Street in Vancouver BC, giving you a really fat and good burger.
The prices are not outrageous and this is no foo foo joint where you are paying with an arm and a leg, for a burger the size of a piece of salmon sushi.
This is a dig in, munch out big burger and the reputation is well known.
Catch them at 4242 Main Street in Vancouver and their site is http://www.splitzgrill.com/index.html!!!
$2.85 Burger aka Hamburger $2.85
The no name food cart on the corner of Pender and Granville (generally), from 11:30 am to 7pm approximately, there’s a burger and it’s all in the name.
$2.85 and you get a tasty treat!
Very simple and a great meal, a taste of teriyaki, lettuce, tomato, mayo, ketchup and you have a real winner.
The Warehouse on Granville
For $5 or $6, you can get a burger and fries. It’s pretty good considering the price. Simple and easy eats, affordable for most people. On a scale with price and taste, it earns points. It’s on Granville right by Caprice Nightclub and Venue, right within the entertainment district.
Jimmy’s Place
In Burnaby by Lougheed Mall, in a strip mall with a Superstore Franchise, this mom and pop shop, can be easily missed and is a hidden gem. It is in a Korea Town area of Burnaby with many Korean shops and businesses, culture, and people. There’s many choices for burgers and is very filling considering what you pay and compared to other prices downtown and elsewhere.
Fatburger
Opinions vary from each franchise location, and my experience is well received, however the price could be better. For restaurant fast food chains, it’s a good place to grab a burger but be prepared to be paying $15 for a full meal. The burgers are indeed fat and there are many cool and tasty choices. This gets an honorable mention for a good chain.
